The eldest daughter of the Naritaya house, on stage as a dancer.
The eldest daughter of Ichikawa Danjūrō XIII. Trained in classical Japanese dance, she performs as Ichikawa Botan IV, and often appears together with her father and younger brother, as in the touring programme 'The Road of Inheritance'.
In August 2019 she took the name Ichikawa Botan IV at the 'Ichikawa-kai' held at Theatre Cocoon in Tokyo, and has continued to refine her art principally on the dance stage.
What They Inherit
'Ichikawa Botan' is a name handed down through dance. She opens it anew with her own body and the sensibility of her generation.
