An interviewer who knows nothing about kabuki asks the most basic question of all — why does it feel so difficult? — and draws out an answer free of jargon. The first sample planned for our international short-form series: one video, one emotion, seven seconds. The only word on screen is 'FURY'. The planned structure: the emotion word at 0–1s, full-body expression at 1–5s, and a climactic mie pose at 5–7s — no dialogue, no explanation, just the kabuki body. One Emotion. One Pose. One Story.

Learning from Danjūrō: A Ten-Minute Dialogue #1

The first episode planned for a dialogue series: ten minutes of questions put to Ichikawa Danjūrō XIII. Each single shoot is designed to yield a full video, Shorts, audio and an article, filmed whenever the schedule allows — around performances or while on the road. Candidate themes include rehearsal, the body, and succession. His words will be published only after filming and his own confirmation.

One recording becomes a film, an article, a voice and Shorts.

A single ten-minute dialogue yields a full film, Shorts, audio and an article. We record whenever the schedule allows — before and after performances, on the road, at exhibition venues.

The same material lives here as film, on VOICE as sound, and in the JOURNAL as words. Whichever door you enter by, the others stay open — so that words spoken once are kept as a lasting cultural asset, not consumed and forgotten.
