ICHIKAWA SOMEGORŌ — MYŌSEKI
Ichikawa Somegorō
Ichikawa Somegorō is a hereditary name carried by the Kōraiya house. That it bears the Ichikawa surname while belonging to the Matsumoto Kōshirō family lies within the long connection between the two houses recorded by the Kabuki Encyclopedia. According to the Kabuki Actor Directory, the current holder, the eighth, is the eldest son of Matsumoto Kōshirō and took the name at the Kabukiza in January–February 2018.
He made his stage debut in June 2009 at the Kabukiza in Kadonde Iō Kotobuki Renjishi, as the child and then the grandson-lion spirit, under the name Matsumoto Kintarō IV (Kabuki Actor Directory).
