Photos and footage will be added as rights are cleared.
A kabuki actor who carries Nakamura Kinnosuke, a hereditary name of the Yorozuya house, having taken the second generation of it in 2007. The first holder was Yorozuya Kinnosuke, who established the house name itself.
According to the Kabuki Actor Directory, he was born on 29 September 1959, the second son of Nakamura Tokizō IV; his grandfather was Tokizō III and his elder brother is the present Nakamura Tokizō. He made his stage debut in July 1964 at the Kabukiza in Miyajima no Danmari, under the name Nakamura Shinjirō.
He qualified for nadai in 1998, and in April 2007 took the name Nakamura Kinnosuke II at the Kabukiza, as Torazō — in truth Ushiwakamaru — in the Kikubatake scene of Kiichi Hōgen Sanryaku no Maki, and as Hanaregoma Chōkichi in the sumo scene of Futatsu Chōchō Kuruwa Nikki. He received collective recognition in 1990 (Kabuki Actor Directory).
What They Inherit
He is the second to bear the name of the man who established the house name itself — an unusual case in which yagō and myōseki begin with the same person.
