ICHIKAWA ENNOSUKE — MYŌSEKI
Ichikawa Ennosuke
Ichikawa Ennosuke is the principal hereditary name of the Omodakaya house. The Kabuki Encyclopedia records that the second holder (later En'ō I) brought ballet technique into dance and staged new works, and that the third (later En'ō II) brought a new wind into kabuki with Super Kabuki. The current holder, the fourth, took the name at the Shinbashi Enbujō in June–July 2012.
Ennosuke III established the Omodaka Jisshu in 1975 — dances created or newly staged by En'ō I — to mark the thirteenth anniversary of his death (Kabuki Play Guide).
