ICHIMURA KAKITSU — MYŌSEKI
Ichimura Kakitsu
Ichimura Kakitsu is a hereditary name of the Tachibanaya house. The Kabuki Actor Directory calls it a considerable name bound up with the Ichimura-za of the Edo sanza: its eighth holder was a former name of Onoe Kikugorō V, its tenth of Ichimura Uzaemon XV. The current holder, the seventeenth, is the eldest son of Ichimura Kichigorō II and took the name in October 1967.
The Directory records that the present holder trained under Nakamura Kanzaburō XVII and, after his teacher's death, joined the Naritaya school of Ichikawa Danjūrō XII. He made his stage debut in July 1956 under the name Ichimura Hisashi.
