A kabuki actor who carries Nakamura Ganjirō, the principal name of the Narikomaya (Ganjirō) house, having taken the fourth generation of it in 2015. He heads a Kamigata house whose art is the Ganjirō Jūnikyoku, gathering the signature roles of Ganjirō I.
According to the Kabuki Actor Directory, he was born on 6 February 1959, the eldest son of Sakata Tōjūrō IV. He made his stage debut in November 1967 at the Kabukiza as Ichimanmaru in Kōbai Soga, under the name Nakamura Tomotarō; qualified for nadai in 1990; and in January 1995 took the name Nakamura Kanjaku V at the Nakaza in Osaka, as Chūbei in Fūinkiri.
In January–February 2015 he took the name Nakamura Ganjirō IV at the Osaka Shōchikuza, as Izaemon in Kuruwa Bunshō. He received collective recognition in 2005. Both his succession roles are Kamigata wagoto parts included in the Ganjirō Jūnikyoku (Kabuki Actor Directory).
